Ear Piercing?
I don't think my ear piercing is infected, but it's definitely irritated. It's a third hole and I just got it around 7 months ago. As of yet, I haven't let my piercing out for more than 5 minutes because I've been worried about the hole closing. If I leave it out while I sleep, will the hole close?

- probably not. it might be a little difficult to stick the earring back in. I have left out earrings for over a year and they still go back in. let it heal completely then push it thru, have ice and peroxide handy.
- Don't worry, because in a matter of time, your ear will get better. It's recommended to leave the earring on for a month. Try using disinfectants and creams. Hope you luck!!
- Dude, that happens to me all the time. I just leave it in and use the earring cleaner that the piercers gave to me and its all better overnight... Might work for you too.
- No it won't hon. If you've had it for 7 months you would have to leave it out for 2 weeks to a month for it to start closing. At that point, it's a very thin flap of skin that has grown back and all you have to do is pop the earring through it to open it back up. Doesn't hurt much. I have one that hasn't closed up in 8 years, but that one was in for 2 years before I decided to get rid of it.
- sounds like you my be allergic to the jewelry you are wearing. It should be safe to leave the earrings out over night though. I have my second holes pierced (had them in for about 3 years) I didnt want them anymore, its been over a year since ive worn earrings in my second hole and they have still not closed! but you should try out different metals! (something without nickel in it) surgical/stainless steel titanium gold
- Don't sleep with it out. Dilute 2 part rubbing alcohol with 1 part water... Wash the earring and around the ear lobe with the solution and then put the earring back in. Try not to sleep on that side as it will only irritate it more. Rotate and clean the area around the piercing 2xs a day - treat it just like you did when you first got it done. Try not to touch it unless your rotating it or cleaning it - be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before making contact! I hope that helps!
