What is a good size ear gauge without going too big?

What is a good size ear gauge without going too big? I want to get my ears gauged but I don't want to go to the point where you have to get surgery to fix it. At what size do you have to get surgery and what size do you like the best?? And also what is the smallest size?

1. i would say a 2g plug is a good size. thats the size im getting.
2. The smallest size is 16 After a zero, you need to get surgery. Zero is the highest you can go and still have it return to normal. A nice size to stay at is a 2, its one size smaller than the zero.

4. The Smallest I belive is 16 or 14. I wouldn't go any bigger than a 0 or 00
5. i would have to say a size 2g would be the best also. i have a 2g myself and i have open gauges and also diamond ones which look like actual earrings. so if you want to disguise them at times this is a good size to stay at. good luck! :)
6. Lola is wrong, you can go to a 00 before you have to get surgery. I was at a 0 and they closed up very nicely once I took them out. But I'd say a 4 or a 2 are good sizes.
