how do I get from 2 gauge ear piercing to 0 gauge?

I currently have my ears pierced with 2 gauge plugs in but i want to go to 0 gauge. I have the tapers ready but whenever i try to put them on they just wont fit. I try to push them in without using too much force so I dont get a blowout but they wont go through, only about halfway. Is there anything I can do to get them in? I've tried using a lubricant but it didnt help.

1. how long have you been at a 2 gauge? you should be waiting at least 2-3 months after reaching a 2 gauge to try stretching to 0. taking a hot shower will help loosen up your lobes. you could also start doing a gradual stretch method using ptfe or bondage tape (don't use electrical or other overly sticky tape, it will only cause problems) wat you do is add a new layer of tape once a week to your plugs
