How long does it take for an 16 and 18 gauge ear piercing to heal?

Does all ear piercings heal 100%? if so how long? I'm planning on getting an ear piercing 16-18 gauge. Does all earlob piercings heal 100%? if so how long? I'm planning on getting an ear piercing 16-18 gauge.

1. no they don't i have regular ear piercings 3 years ago.. i don't wear they anymore.. and if i put an ear ring on, they go in no problem
2. depends on person to person. for one person who's had their ears pierced for 10 years, a hole can heal in a matter of 2 days, but for another who's piercing had just healed, it can never close. depends on your body.
3. yes, but be warned when you go bigger they may not close right i did my ears and when they closed i got a large bump on one of the back of my ears and had to have it surgically removed
4. I work at Claire's, and we've pierced over 80 million ears. I know a lot about piercing. It truly depends on your body chemistry, etc. After you have an EAR LOBE piercing for six months, you can take the stud out and it will stay open, but you can't expect it to be open like ten years later if you never put anything in it. After you have an EAR CARTILAGE (up near the top of the ear) piercing for a year, you can take the stud out, and it should stay open.
